Who chooses...

...what songs the father/bride mother/groom dances are too? The parent or the child? I'm having a disagreement with my FH over who chooses that and hopefully you lovely ladies can solve it for us :)

I asked my dad to pick ours. Not sure what is the standard but I thought it would be special to see what song he picked for me :)

Who chooses...

I've said sinceymy sweet 16 that we would dance to the whole song of butterfly kisses. We dance to it at my sweet 16. But I might see if my dad wants something else bc that song makes me cry. And I'm already going to cry when I dance with my fh for a song dedicated to his late mother.

From the time I was little my dad always listened to frank Sinatra and my sisters and I knew all the words. So my sweet 16 we danced to 'The way you look tonight' and we'll repeat that on my wedding day. I would say its a mutual decision

If I let my dad pick, God only knows what he'd come up with. I'm trying to find something he'd like.. I'll probably come up with a few suggestions and let him pick from those. FMIL has already voiced her opinion on what she wants (like a year ago when we got engaged lol) but fh doesn't like it, so I think he'll end up picking it and she'll just have to suck it up.

I picked the song because it has meaning for my father and I. My FI is having difficulty coming up with a song. He might ask his mothers opinion.

For us it will be joint decision between the two dancing to the song, but I don't really think there are any rules as long as you all agree on something lol

I thought the same thing would happen to me. Every time I heard the song that I danced to with my dad, I was hysterical crying but that day we were laughing so hard! I thought I would've cried the whole day and night but barely did. I faught back the tears from the point of getting dressed until walking down the aisle and maybe the first minute of standing next to my husband (wow, that was so weird to call him my husband). Then, I felt extremely calm and a huge sense of belonging!!! :) :) :)
