that's something we're going to have to take care of very soon... they're paying so ultimately it's their decision, but FH is going to throw out 2 places to them that we'd preferably like it at... and i don't forsee it being a problem

well, my in laws hosted it, but my husband and i chose the location. actually, we mentioned to them that we loved the place, so we all had dinner there one night, and then my ILs booked on the spot.

It was at 105 Harbor in Cold Spring Harbor. Yummy and elegant.

I chose it. DH's mom lives in Florida and DH doesn't know Suffolk at all.

We had ours at The Cooperage Inn in Baiting Hollow and it was lovely. The only thing I didn't like was that they couldn't give us a room for 24 people, so we were at two tables. But they put us in a corner so we could make little speeches and stuff.

Fhs parents are from CT so they didnt know any places...We chose it and they agreed to it...so we loved it..they did too

Luckily fil's live out-of-state so fh and I got to choose their options and they got to choose from those, we knew we'd be happy with their final selection

if his parents were paying id prob give them a choice of 2 places, this way im a happy bride lol!

but.....we are paying...so unfortuntly its gonna just be at a pizza/italain place..just so we can cut cost!!

FILs. They are actually going over the top with it, I wanted something a little more casual (and far less expensive). Either way, its a beautiful place and I am really grateful they offered to host it for us. It's almost as much per person as our wedding, but I must say I am quite looking forward to it!

We sort of chose it together. We all had dinner there one night, and it was a favorite restaurant of ours, and I said that it would be a great place for the RD. My MIL LOVED the idea and booked it soon after. Giardino's restaurant in Douglaston. Great place!

FIL's did, they did not ask our opinion at all which I would have liked but in the end I am happy with the place so I should just be grateful they didn't go with the first choice of a pizza place conveniently located by them and not so conveniently far from the church and my whole family!
They had professional invites done...is that a little over the top? I did offer to do them myself.... but I think they wanted to make sure everybody knew they were hosting!

my IL's paid so they chose. I LOVE where we had it! It was at Tesoro's in Westbury on Old Country Rd and we had the private room. The food was great! But they gave us a few choices and let us have a say in what kind of food we wanted.
