From what I can remember at other weddings - it's the band/dj's responsibility to coordinate all of that. They work with the hall on timing. You definitely do not need to be stressed with that. They will handle it. Either your BM or someone from the band will give you a heads up on the dance coming up or they will basically invite you out on the dance floor with an announcement.

if you have specific ideas discuss them with the band ahead of time.....you don't need any responsibilities that day.

We decided with the DJ and I told the hall when to do them. It was as SOON as we were announced...did dances and speeches and got it over with. I didn't want ANY interruptions mid=party to dance with anyoone.

You tell the band/DJ when you want to do the 'special' dances. Some people like to do them early in the reception, and others like to do them after cake. I've seen it done both ways.

I told both the DJ & the BM. They were also on my checklist for the Maitre'D
