Anyone not bother to do this? any problems you heard of? Its still goes through one machine so I am not sure it is worth doing at lunchtime when we go mail our invites!!!

Re: Who did NOT hand cancel???
just confused, what is the difference between hand cancelling and not hand cancelling? does the machine make the invite all marked up or something?

Re: Who did NOT hand cancel???
I didn't! It hardly came out with a mark on it. None were ripped or bent or anything. Also, I used black envelopes so you could barely see the stamp. HTH!

Re: Who did NOT hand cancel???
typically mail goes through2 machines at the post office which make an ink stamp on it. If you are worried about the machines eating up your invites you can hand stamp one of them so it does not go through the first machine.

I dont think I will hand canc. They are pretty normal size envelopes with no bling on the invitaitons to get caught in the machine

they don't charge for it! atleast that it what i was told... but i think some post offices make you do the stamping yourself. my friend had to!

Re: Who did NOT hand cancel???
I dont think I am going to do it. Just mainly for the fact that it goes through the machine anyway. I will be sending my invites out from a different post office than the one in my town because my ex fiance is my mailman and I just dont trust him.

i didn't hand cancel. mine were not bulky and didnt have any embellishments. i haven't heard any complaints about the invites being torn or ripped. we had ivory envelopes too!

Re: Who did NOT hand cancel???
I didn't hand cancel and don't think there were any problems. The post office actually told me you should only hand cancel if the envelopes are a little bulky
