OK so my photog referred me to some lady who supposedly does awesome make-up now keep in mind this is the first person I have called for make up so maybe i am the wrong 1 but she quoted me at 150 for a trial and 300 for day of (airbrush) um is that insane or am I just very new to these makeup prices? Who is doing your did your make up and how much was your trial?

300 for just makeup is too much. I am paying 300 for both hair and makeup. The trial is also alot for just makeup.
I would find someone else...

that sounds too expensive, unless that price also includes travel expenses and maybe her bridal party prices are low enough to offset the bride price???
I think the day of for the bride, airbrush, is about $150 for my artist.

Yeah that does seem like a lot... my trial was $100 for makeup and hair and my day of is $275 for both.

i paid $300 for hair & makeup together... if it's $300 just for makeup, i would DEFINETLY go on some trials because imho that is just way too much money to charge someone!(and this is coming from a makeup artist!). i used mi a from the b r i dal lo u nge .com (just take out the spaces)...she was absolutely phenomenal & worth every penny! good luck!

I originally wanted to use *** but she was booked. I'm using 2 diff women for hair and make up. Both trials were free and I'm actually going for a second hair trial next week b/c i changed my mind and thats free too. FM me for info.

you can definitely find someone cheaper than that!! The girl that just did my friends wedding was awesome and really reasonably priced. Makeup by Marisa.com (no spaces) My friend definitely paid under $200 for it... and she gave us a good package bc there were alot of bridesmaids. Good luck with everything!!

My trial was $100, and my day of makeup was $150. I admit my trial was pricier than most (and I considered skipping it, since I knew my makeup artist's work and had used her in the past) but decided in the scheme of things it was worth it to have a trial. I loved my makeup artist and was very happy with her. FM me for more info
I do think that is very pricey for makeup. You could look into the Pedala sisters -- they are also pricey but I think they give free trials. There are also other popular vendors on this site

I went to Mac. They did an awesome job and I just had to buy $50 worth of products. Best deal around and the make-sup was great. My mom, sis and sis-in-law went too and theirs came out great too.
