So my MOH is going to be asking me for a list of names & addresses for the bridal shower. I feel like my list is a little longggg....about 65 ppl longggg. My wedding guest list is at about 185 and I feel like this may be normal..but I really dont know....
so....who do you invite? Every woman thats invited to your wedding except like girlfriends of guests that you dont really know personally or just like close friends and family?? I really dont knowwwww......

Good question! I was wondering the same thing. My numbers are very similar to yours! I think like mostly the women that are in the family. Like my mom is inviting a whole bunch of people she works with to the wedding, but I dont think she is inviting them to the shower because they arent family - I am not completely sure though

If i don't know them, im not inviting them...i know that much....but i'm not sure if I should be inviting the women I know but aren't really that close...i guess it couldn't hurt but I feel bad giving my girls such a longggg list of people.....but i do have 10 girls in my bridal party which will hopefully come in handy when they are paying for this longggg list...lol

i am just inviting family and close friends.... if i invited every woman that was coming to my wedding i think my mom would have a heart attack! (shes paying for it)

65 is fine!! i think for a shower typically a little more than 20% don't show so you'll maybe have 45-50 people?
make sure you don't have too many guests that you can't speak to them all...nothing worse than buying a shower gift and giving up a sunday for someone that completely ignores you!!!!

Honestly some people will be happy they weren't invited. I know I personally hate showers. I think they are boring as anything.

I'm personally not into inviting every woman who's invited to the wedding, but that's just me. I'm having 2 showers-one here and one out of state. At both only family and close friends are invited. I don't enjoy going to showers myself and inviting people you're not even close with just looks to me like you're looking to get more gifts . . . JMO.

I invited very close friends and family I think combined with my fmils list I had abt 70 or 75 ppl invited

well you can invite whoever you want... most people do family and close friends... whoever you invite to the shower should be invited to the wedding

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you- we're at about 190 guest list for the wedding and 60 people for the shower. I invited a few people I wouldn't have normally invited because they are girlfriend's of the GMs (we're friends but not that close) and FH asked me to invite them.

I am inviting my friends and family and whoever my mother wants to include
I think 65 is a perfectly acceptable number. I think we invited 80 to my sister's shower
I invited all the women in my family, in FH's family and some friends of mine and my mom's. My FH's mom is deceased which is why I didn't mention any of her friends. I left out coworkers and wives and girlfriends of FH's friends. I had about 31 people including myself.

I put my friends and family, then I asked FMIL if she had anyone she wanted to invite.

when i sent the list to my mom & sister i included all the women who are invited to the wedding & that's who they invited.
since i didn't want to have anything to do with the shower i told my sister that if she had any questions to speak directly to FH. & that's what she did.
