Who do you reccomend for alterations @ Pronovias in NYC?
Does any one have any recco. for whom to request for alterations? I recently spoke with a bride who got her dress there and said she had some issues with the alterations, she had to go back 5 times or so for them to do what she asked.
Did anyone who bought their dress at the store in NYC have a great experience & can reccomend their seamstress?
I really love their gowns and I think I am going to end up buying one there.

I bought my gown from Pronovias and so far my experience has been great! My dress has not come in yet, and I don't know who exactly will be doing the alterations on my dress. I know for a fact that all they do is the basic necessary alterations, they will not make any even small changes to any dress 'out of respect for the designer'. So when you choose your gown just make sure you are completely happy with the entire design and style bv they will not touch your dress. Only to make alterations.

I'm no help OP -- but to say that i LOVE Pronovias dresses and I want to get my gown there at the flagship store. This is a really good thing to know though b/c I've thought oooh I love this but a little lace here and it would be perfect LOL. . so thanks for the heads up!!!

wow. that is really actually upsetting to me! i have actually tried on the dress i love but i want to make the neckline a sweetheart.
would they even do something like make the neckline a sweetheart?

This is SO true. I was really against a strapless dress and they wouldn't consider adding even a spaghetti strap to a gown that I liked. It didn't really matter anyway; I found 'the dress' which didn't end up being Pronovias, but it was a little annoying that they wouldn't customize any of their designs. Just a heads up!

No they won't change a thing on yout gown. I thought I wanted to possibly change my neckline and only add a 'dip' which is not a big change, even if you ask any seamstress and they told me they won't make ANY changes at all. Ofcourse, you could always get any change to a gown done somewhere else, but that is difficult bc it's hard to find a really great experienced WEDDING GOWN seamstress AND if you don't purhcase your gown in their store most of the time they won't touch your dress either. Pronovias has many many beautiful gowns. So, I'm sure you won't have a problem finding a gown. I actually went to try on my gown again today since I got a Makeup trial i wanted to get the whole effect...lol And I realized I don't have to add a 'dip' or change anything about the dress. Thank God! lol
