Who do you tip around the holidays??

Who do you tip around the holidays??

Do you tip your mailman, garbage man etc???

If so how much?

Typically I tip:

mailman $25
garbage man $25 (each)


I also give to my son's teachers at nursery school a gift. He has two and I give them $25 each and usually bake them a batch of cookies.

Teachers $25

I also give my son's hairstylist $25 for Christmas.

Am I crazy or do others also tip around the holidays??

I don't know who my mailman is or garbage men...


I have tipped my doormen...but I don't live in a tall building anymore


I have a hair appoint in dec...so I actually bought something for him...he collects nightmare before christmas items...so I bid on one on ebay...and I will give a little more in his regular tip


I don't 'tip' but secretaries always get a little gift from me!!! custodians too...they are the ones that make your job so much easier...but can make it so much more difficult too

I usually buy a little something for my hair stylist, mancurist, the lady who works at the dry cleaners (she is a wonderful lady).

I usually give $25 to the UPS man. We get alot of deliveries and he is so good about delivering them to my grandmother's house when no one is home.

I live in an apt bldg so I tip my mailman $20

Nothing for the super this year. He is a lazy jerk. I didn't the first year I was living here since I was in the hosp. Last year I gave him $50 and did I get a thank you? Nope.

I will also give the parking garage guys near where I work a big box of chocolate or a big tin of popcorn and tip them a bit extra the week or so before - it's always a different guy so I can't really give 1 a big tip.

Oh and I give my nail tech/hair stylist a gift. She's the owner so I feel weird giving her a big tip - but I tip her whenever I go in (bi-monthly)

The only person I tip is my hairdresser. I cut my haircut a week before the holidays every year so I make sure I give her a big tip. Once I own a house I'm sure I'll tip my mailperson and maybe garbage men.

gee...I didnt know to tip the mailman and garbage men. I dont even see the garbage men. They come around 5am.

I really have no one to tip (I might get my hairdresser a gift this year, since she has been doing my hair for over a year now, that's a hairdresser commitment for me )

I used to get great gifts from my members at my old gym. I am going to miss that

Just the Newsday delivery guy! I'm in an apt without a doorman so we don't see our postman or garbage men - if we lived in a house we'd tip both of them.


(I don't get my nails done often enough and my hair lady gets great tips whenever I see her )

I buy a gift for my hairdresser and my manicurist
My parents tip the sanitation guys
My dad IS the mailman (he is a mailman in my town and his route is the one that covers my area). Mom usually labels one of his gifts especially for the mailman
