who else are we supposed to tip??

My fiance & I are paying for alot of the wedding ourselves & I am trying to figure out all expenses. but did not know who else were supposed to tip besides Maitre D.?? Is it a know fact to tip all of the vendors as well or is it just a 'nice gesture'...Also how much is each supposed to get??...thanks everyone :)

Typically your suppose to tip people that do a service not a product. Like you don't tip the photographer but you tip the DJ. If someone is doing hair and make-up they should be tipped as well. ( This tip should be based on whether they are coming to you or your going to them and how many people they are doing.) Hope this helps.

i figured stuff like that, hair & makeup of course but some people on here say the photographer & videographer too?? thank you so much rachel though.. i think how you explained it makes alot of sense :)

Yes, most tip the photg and video. Also:

Maitre D'
Bridal attendant(s)
DJ/MC/band members
Floral if you are there when they are setting up- nominal delivery fee tip usually about $10
Makeup/hair stylists

from what ive seen most do tip photographer and videographer, I tipped mine too for my wedding.

Most people tip their Photographer/Video. I would not tip the owners. I would only tip the people providing the service.........Photographer , assistant, & Videographer. My Dad's good friend owned a studio years ago & told me that most of the time photographers are freelance people providing a service to the studios. They get a flat rate to do a wedding & that's it. It saves the studio $$$$ because they don't have to pay them all year. Freelance people only get paid when they work. Also, they have to pay their own taxes.
FH is a freelance writer. He has to pay his taxes quartly. The people he works for do not take taxes out of his pay.
I'm tipping:
Photo-$100.00
Assist-$50.00
Video-$100.00

Limo tip is usually included in the price - Anything after that is up to you but you dont have to

Glad I could help a bit---I didn't say photographer because she is the owner--it's Imagine Studio which is her and her husband. Think of whoever is providing a service.

Would you girls still tip your hair and makeup vendor even if they are the owners of their business and the only workers from their business thus 100% of their fee goes to them anyway??

See now i disagree - your already paying high prices for vendors - i dont see a need to tip them additionally. i mean especially if they are the owners.... If the hair/make up girls come to my house then i will tip them but if we all go to them - i dont think i will. The limos - tip is included - florist already included a set up & delivery fee & shes the owner.... The maitre d' yes of course i will tip - i dont know just my opinion!
