I always wondered why my parents didn't go out...although I wanted them to...we sat at home on sat nights watching the Love Boat and Fantasy Island...but now I totally understand...they were broke...just like we are now!!

Try living on ONE teacher's salary (mine) for over a year in NYC!!! (hubby has been unemployed since 9/11) AND pay off school loans and business debt!
HOWEVER.... we'll find out this week if he gets an offer from AOL in Virginia....Then we can get back on our feet...(but we'll also have to move
Keep your fingers crossed for us!
BTW... for anyone who is struggling - I think it is ROMANTIC. One day you will look back and know that you made it through tough times, and you'll smile

The next 2 weeks are HUGE bill weeks for us so we're definatly broke for at least the next 2 weeks.

So true- ever see the movie The Firm, how Tom Cruise & his wife start off broke until he gets a job after graduating law school? I'm trying for that kind of pay day too

We are definatly learning. we've been budgeting like crazy, we dont go out like we used too, saving for things we really want, and just looking out for the other.
I am not working and he is and we just stick together and support each other.
We find other ways to enjoy a nice evening together
