Who else is having a small wedding of 75 guests and under??

I'm having a small wedding with about 50-60 guests. I was just curious if there are any other brides that are having a small wedding with 75 guests or less?? Where are you having your wedding? I'm having mine at Leonard's of Great Neck in the Empire Room. After looking at about 30 catering halls we picked Leonard's. It was soooo hard to find places with 50 guest minimums. I felt like a lot of the halls didn't even think my party was important. Also I noticed a lot of the halls didn't really have nice smaller rooms It was sooo difficult finding a location!! Just wondering if you ladies had the same experience.

Well, we did not have that problem b/c we had a ridiculously large guest list BUT I can sympathize with your situation. With these Halls it is all about money and if you are not guaranteeing AT LEAST 150+ guests-- most of the time, not always-- but most of the time they act like they can't be bothered. The other thing that struck me about you- and I can relate is that you booked very far in advance. I had the same experience. We booked 2.5 years in advance and they acted like it was a joke. I don't understand why-- money is money whether you are getting it now or in two years but that was the attitude we got. The only place we did not get treated like that was Flowerfield. They treated us with the utmost respect and we immediately knew it was the place for us-- and for a million reasons. It's a good thing you found the place you did because you want to feel comfortable with your Hall. It's funny when I think about all those places that treated us like that when we ended up spending such an obscene amount of money- if they really knew how serious we were, just that we happened to book far in advance, they would shiit themselves!

We had a small wedding (62 guests) on 10/13 at the George Washington Manor.

We were in the Presidential Room (which holds about 120 people), so there was plenty of room.

we did a minimum of 60 people and wound up with 80. We used the smaller room at Larkfield Manor and it was just incredible. So much food and the staff is just terrific. The wedding from the larger room cancelled just 2 weeks before so they moved our cocktail hour to the larger room and we had use of the larger patio which was nice since it was a gorgeous day.
I hope yours will be as wonderful.

I am having a small wedding. We have to guarantee 70 and probably won't go to much over that. Maybe 80 people. We knew that a lot of RH's would be to big for us. We wanted something that had a nice view and was close to our church. Douglaston Manor was perfect for us

I'm inviting about 90 and hope to have about 70 come.

I could not believe how rude halls were regarding the fact that I wanted a small wedding. One guy, from a place I won't name - well OK I will, Lessings - asked me why I 'didn't want to invite more people'. I said, 'because everyone on my father's side of the family is dead.' The conversation took a turn for awkward at that point. It's not even true, and it's a terrible thing for me to lie about, but honestly the question caught me off guard and I was ticked. The bottom line is that I want an intimate wedding. Very simple. Who the h*ll is some dude from Lessings to question that?!

I also had a bad experience with Georgio's about this but I won't get into it.

Vent over. Yea, I hear ya

Oh my God, tell me about about it! We were looking for a hall for 50-60 and most wouldn't even consider booking us unless we booked 3 months in advance!!!
Finally, we went to Smithtown Landing and they made us feel like our party was just as important. They were so nice that we booked them!!!
We eneded up with 50 guests !
