Who gave or is giving your hall

less numbers then you actually had/have? How did you do the seating arrangements when you gave it to your hall. they are asking me to give them a seating plan but I want to give them 4 less people than I am having. Just in case there are some emergencies or no shows..

we tried to do this but it got really confusing in the end and we just ended up paying for everyone who we knew was coming.
on the end, we still had 1 no show

Yeah, I agree--this sounds like a good idea and has worked out for other people, but for me it's just too confusing with seating arrangements and stuff.

I think it's ridiculous, BTW, that this is something that happens. I know emergencies happen every day, but I think for the most part it's just people being RUDE.

i have 12 cousins that notoriously RSVP yes and then don't show

i'm not counting them

i put them all at one table and im not telling the hall about that table until the day of

there is NO WAY im paying for 12 people who PROBABLY won't show

I took [randomly] 3 off of my final count....and ironically a family of 3 didnt show.

we gave them 8 less people b/c i felt like they were flaky. they did show up though

I gave them three less and i paid the FRIDAY before the wedding and that NIGHT i had a cancellation and then two no shows the day of people are so annoying

I gave 5 less which worked out. When I did the seating chart I didn't add the people I thought would flake out. If they did show my rh allowed me to add that day. The only thing is I paid for the 5 favors as well as the escort cards.

i would want to give them the right number bc when people do all show up, its a nightmare trying to get everything all settled. the LAST thing you want them doing to scrambling to get things together when people are all sitting at the table... or even worse, rolling out a new table and setting it. .. especially 12!

I left off a total of 4 people. This included leaving them off the seating chart. I waited until my mom saw them, and then told my MD to add four seats to the table.

This worked out for me - because the 4 showed including a WEDDING CRASHER and 4 didn't show.

My hall told me not to include at least 4 people in the count, but put the correct number of seats out. After the wedding was over, my parents only paid for the meals that were made.
