Who gets an invite?

Who gets an invite?

Im confused, I just read somewhere online that anyone over 18 should get their own invite even if they still live at home. Are all of you doing this? Would it be bad if I didnt?

Ask your parents (or other relatives) if they got invites with your name on it when you were over 18 and still at home...that'll tell you what your family expects

I have a couple of people like that in my family...i'm gonna play it by ear and see what the situation is for each case

No way...Anyone who still lives at home is getting invited as a family...NO DATES...We need to cut down on our guest list and this is the easiest way to do it!

it depends if you want them to be able to bring a guest. if you do then they should get their own invite with an 'and guest' on it.. if you want to be sure they DONT bring a guest then i would include them on their parents' invitation

I was recently invited to my moms friends wedding and I didnt get my own invite. I dont live at home but it didnt bother me one bit. I know she wanted me there. I doubt anyone will be offended. And as TwoPeas said, it will be the easiest way to make sure they dont try and bring a date along.

I was told that anyone over 18 gets their own invitation, but Save your money!! I don't plan to send an individual invitation if they still live at home.

I get an invite and I'd like to bring a guest. Not FH, though, my boy toy.

Thanks,

IF they are a family with 18+ year old kids, I will address it as the whole family. If they are a couple it will be Mr and Mrs, one invite. Im not sending separate invites if its not needed

Yes, I am, sending anyone over 18 their own invite with 'and guest', but you don't have to do that.

FH's godparents have 2 18+ kids at home, and we're putting them all on one invite. they don't have girlfriends, so we don't see the need to send 3 invitations to one house. we're inviting my stepsister's kids' nanny (she's been there for 5 years, she's family) and although they all live in the same household, she'll get her own invite because she's 29, and has a long term SO. i think it depends if the situation calls for it.

I hate this rule. but my freaking family gets offended is you don't send separate ones. I have an aunt who has three of her children living at home. NONE of them are dating anyone..they never do, they're weird and I have to send FOUR freaking invites to their house or my dumb cousins won't come. GRRR it annoys me. Who even wants them there!?

Im going to do it, Fh has cousins who live at home with their parents and theyre like 28-29 years old...Even though its more money i figured i would give them their own

I think this is one of those situations where yes there are etiquette rules, but really, it comes down to how your family is.

My family for instance, this would not apply. I only have literally a couple of younger guests but they're even OVER 18 but still living at home because they're in college. They're my first cousins and in my mind they're still 'kids'. They wil go on the same invite as my aunt and uncle. I'm not sending my cousins who are freshmen in college and still living at home their own invites, it's just not how it works with us. They're not invited with dates either so that's also why they'll just be with the family's invite.

So I see go more with what you think your family would be used to.

we did anybody over 18 got there own invite.. But I think it depends upon family. I know alot of my cousins who are over 18 might need to check there schedules and it was just easier for us to see which of the cousins could and couldn't come. If that makes any sense, god bless you lol
