Who gets invited to the shower?

Who gets invited to the shower?

Ok, I've been asked to put together the list of potential invites to my bridal shower 'just in case' (cough cough) but I am having a hard time figuring out who should be included!

So far most of the list is my friends and family - there are some women on there that are from FH's side, but only women I've met or spent a little time with. Is that right?

And you don't have to invite ALL of your female friends, right? Just the ones you're closer with?

I'm so confused

thanks!

edit - i also want to be prepared in case I get any grumbling from the other side

Re: Who gets invited to the shower?

I asked my FMIL for a list of people she'd like to have at my shower and I passed it on to my mother who is throwing my shower.

That's a good idea. You don't want to leave anyone out.

I will be asking FMIL or FSIL for the list of their side of the family. The rest is my family and friends

I invited the immediate family and all of my close friends and my moms close friends. I also asked my MIL if she wanted any of her friends at the shower, but she said no...so its mostly my friends.

From my side invited close friends, female cousins, wives of my male cousins and my Aunts.
My sisters that threw the shower ask FH who from his side should be invited and he got a list from his mom.

My list includes family (both mine and FH's), close friends, and a few co-workers whom I consider friends. I don't have a very big list (about 45 or so?). I know it's going to be held at my mother's house so I don't want to invite too many people.
