Who gets the Grooms Cake...

My FSIL insists its the groom's family that should get the grooms cake? I thought it was supposed to be from the bride? Does anyone know the answer?

Re: Who gets the Grooms Cake...

The Groom's cake is a gift from the bride to the groom.

I found this online: The cake can either be ordered by the bride as a surprise for her groom, the groom can order it himself, or the bridal couple.

Nothiing about the groom's family getting it.

ETA: And I found this on USABride: The groom’s cake is suppose to be a gift from the bride to the groom. In ancient times, it was believed that if a single woman put a piece of the groom’s cake under her pillow, she would dream that night of the man she would marry.

Tell your FSIL she's mistaken!!

I am having one and FMIL said she would pay for it. I think if you can afford it, then it's nice for you to get it. If not, and you are planning on having it at the rehearsal dinner, ask your FIL's
