any good methods to use or tips for me when doing my seating chart?
i have to start this and i just wanna figure out the easiest way to go about it.

Wedding Wire has a cool 'visual' setaing chart thing....only problem is you have to upload or add all of your guests...
Maybe print out and cut names and use index cards as 'tables' so you can easily move them?
Or a spreadsheet which is always my go-to

ETA: You can upload your guestbook in excel and then just put people on tables and you can see it all in front of you. There is noooo way you can forget anyone and you can move people all over, it's pretty cool...

i took a poster board, drew out the room (this was for eparty) with oval tables....as the responses came i put that family/couple/indiv's name on a small post it....then put them on the respective tables...was able to move eveything around without erasing and re-writing etc...

I have each guest on an index card, and each category in a different color (bride's family=pink; groom's family=blue; friends=yellow, so on). This way I can sort them into tables and move them around, and the colors make it easy for the initial sorting. We're having 275 people, so that's pretty important that we did that!

its free. there are way better ones out there, but I didnt want to pay for anything. its very easy to use I already have all the RSVPed guests seated, and u can upload ur excel spreadsheet into it, which was the best thing for me, as I keep EVERYTHING in spreadsheets

I have it in a spreadsheet but FH needs a larger visual so we are using post-its on 11x17 size paper. We have the floor plan blown up and move the post-its accordingly. Primitive but it works.

I was planning on doing the same thing Jackie did because my mom wants to be able to see the room. Instead I just used weddingwire. It was very easy to do.

kelley how many people fit at a table?
I believe they told me it's 10 'comfortably' but they can squeeze 11 or 12.

yeah they told us 12 but we were hoping to do 10 so its more comfortable.
they also have 3 tables that fit 14 if you need those

We are going to import our excel sheet into weddingwire.com and use their seating chart. I really like it, you can virtually lay out your room, with the specific sized tables and proper number of seats. Then drag and drop people into the seat/table.
