Re: Who has ball gown style wedding dresses?

T - My dress is a considered ball gown, although it's not as full as you might think and it does have a bustle. A friend of mine has a ball gown and the train is detachable, which I think is common for a ball gown, I could be TOTALLY wrong though...

But to answer your question, yes mine has a bustle

Re: Who has ball gown style wedding dresses?

Mine is a ball gown and it has a semi-cathedral train so it will definitely have a bustle!

Re: Who has ball gown style wedding dresses?

I am kinda tossed up on this.
I am small 5' and I think if I have a busle I will look lost like I have this LUMP of dress on me? NO?

Oooh, I love bustles (esp French Bustles)! I think they're sexy. I don't think you'll look lost in it.

Re: Who has ball gown style wedding dresses?

T, my dress is A-line, and I had a cathedral train turned into a shorter, detachable train...

I hated the bustle look!!! And I am about your height

Re: Who has ball gown style wedding dresses?

I have a ballgown and my dress has a huuuge train that is detachable. Here's a pic of my dress with the train but you get the idea of how it will look with the train off.

Re: Who has ball gown style wedding dresses?

The French Bustle is sort of like the Amsale bustle...it's high on the butt...instead of low or underneath.

Re: Who has ball gown style wedding dresses?

T - I do and I am also very petite. The bustle feels a little strange, but if your seamstress is worth her salt, it will look fine. It is a little strange to see a poof back there, but really mine poofs out all around, so you can't really tell.

I will post my dress in about 23 days and show you.

Re: Who has ball gown style wedding dresses?

I do and I have a cathedral train. Still looking for a pic of the 'right' bustle that I want that won't make me look like I'm ready to tip over from my big behind!
