It's insane how much junkmail and spam I get. I have to stop giving my address and email out. At least the calls haven't started yet.

i did, because i gave out my name and home phone number to a few vendors at a bridal expo. address is fine, but NEVER EVER EVER give out your phone number. the calls have stopped now (touch wood) but i could've avoided it if i never gave it out in the first place

Well I guess I couldn't avoid giving it to the Swan Club but we gave it to all the other reception places we looked at.........who all called to see if were still interested!!

And of course they call around dinner time!

So annoying!

i know it gets annoying. just tell them you are not ready to book yet and you will call them once you are ready. if that don't work, just threaten to spread vicious lies about them and that should end it for good. kidding, i'm just kidding about that last part.

Just butting in...

You'll get a lot of stuff immediatly after you join sites and after you book your hall - but they'll start to dwindle after about 1 - 2 months.

The mail I don't mind but phones calls and SPAM are so annoying!!

Im checking some of it right now that came in todays mail!! What I find really annoying is the phone calls from alot of these vendors and you cant avoid alot of them because they call from their homes so a company name doesn't come up on the caller id.

UNBELIEVABLE....no sooner than I posted that I don't get phone calls we go to Neptune Diner to eat and Pedastal's calls to tell me they are Russo's House Vendor....I booked with Russo's over a month ago. I spoke too soon.

We are under pressure as it is and dont need 100 vendors calling trying to get our biz!

YES me too!! And phone calls too yes yes. The only places I gave my phone # to were the reception halls. I cannot believe how much I am getting in the mail and EMAIL omg!! Its insane!

I agree too. It will get better. You can help yourself out too.

Don't opt in to recieve notices when you sign up to wedding sites. I got hundreds of emails when I did this then I unsubsribed and it went away.

If you really don't want to talk to a vendor, don't pick up the phone (if you have caller id) and don't return messages. They'll get the hint after a while.
At least this all worked for me. I don't mind the junk mail that much becuase I can just throw that away.

I got a ton of mail today. And my cell phone rings constantly. I stopped answering the #s I don't recognize. I don't mind the snail mail. It's helpful since I haven't booked most of my vendors yet.

Yeah, I get something everyday in the mail...a lot of it is duplicates too! Really annoying...it actually makes me NOT want to use them!

I can't beleive the amount of junk mail that I get everyday when I get home...and the phones calls from the house vendors are getting annoying too...we have your inof (courtesy of the hall)if want to check out your services we'll call you...

I barely check my home e-mail anymore because it's all wedding-related - and it's prompting me for stuff I'm just not ready to think about yet!!! I actually have a giant rubbermaid container for all the postcards and promotional materials I get in the mail - and the pile is growing rapidly!
