I went on a Carnival Cruise, and I liked it. I would definitely go again. (besides the fact that I got really seasick one day!) I went during school Feb break, when kids are on vacation, and while there were some kids on the boat, I really didn't notice them. THe staff keeps them so busy that they are out of the way. I thought the service and staff where great and there was always something to do.
I've done 3 or 4, but they were all of the 3 day from miami to bahama's with my girlfriends booze-cruise variety! I can't say if I think they would be good for a honeymoon. some of them are more party ships and some are more couple oriented, I believe. We took one girl for her bachelorette and it was a blast, about 8 of us went. good luck!
I went on Carnival from San Juan to several islands (St. Thomas, Barbados, Anguilla...) Loved it! The great thing about a cruise is you get out of it what you want- you can party all night and just chill all day or you can sight-see, shop, snorkel whatever all day and have a relaxing dinner at night and go to bed early. People definetely party on the ships all the time, but the boats are large enough that there is plenty of space to get away from that if you want. Check out cruise-addicts.com
I went on carnival back when I was in college and I had a great time. A friend just went on one a few weeks ago with her husband and said it was great, liked it better then the cruise line they used for the honeymoon b/c of age group. There are more young adults on carnival (20, 30somethings)
I just went this past summer to cancun, cayman islands 5 days, it was awesome!! I do agree though that there were alot of kids and family and partying going on, thats why i dont want to do it for honeymoon but if you dont mind all that then it really is a great trip!
Ive been on 2 Carnival Cruises - not 100% perfect but very close (and I have high standards). Carnival does a great job with most things. TIP: Always in the dining room - the food is great.
On that same note, I went on a Norweigan Cruise (which is supposed to be more upscale) and thought it was terrible.
I went on a Carnival cruise about 2 years ago. People told us all these bad things about Carnival but we loved it. The food was excellent and we had an awesome time.
We have been on 2 Carnival Cruises and had a fabulous time on each. They have new ships year after year and I couldn't be more pleased with their services and activities.
We took the Paradise and the Triumph.
