Who has been to Cabo?

Who has been to Cabo?

My friends just told me they reserved a time share in Cabo San Lucas for a week- 6/21/04. We are welcome to come w. them- and we'd only have to pay for airfare and food.

Has anyone been there? What's the deal?

Hey Dina!
I have never been, but have heard it's absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing....
I also heard it's $$$ though....
But if all you need is airfare and extras...I would say go for it!

I've been!! FH and I both LOVED IT!! It's a very laid back place. The bars/clubs are there if you want them. Food is pretty inexpensive. There's lots of day activities to do as well...water sports and they have those dune buggy things which I heard was a lot of fun, but we didn't do. Is there anything in particular you want to know?

ETA: I don't think it's expensive at all, at least compared to Cancun. It might be getting moreso, though because its becoming more popular.

GO GO GO! It is supposed to be awesome! Matt and his friends are trying to get a fishing trip together there. Sounds like a deal to me!

I've been a few times.

I wouldn't say its absolutely gorgeous. Its a poor mexican town with some gorgeous resorts and great views. But outside the resorts, its not so pretty.

The beaches aren't as nice as you'd find in the Caribbean, but its a great fun place. And over by the arch and Lovers Beach, its beautiful.

I've been to Mexico before- I know how it is.. once you are in the town it is pretty poor.. but I sort of like that about Mexico- I find the people to be very warm.

some are a little too 'warm' - my sisters and I had some problems with some local men getting WAY too friendly (actually jumping out of the bushes and grabbing at us! )

Whoa! I have this policy- if I go somewhere that has a potential to be 'shady' I don't leave the resort unless in a large group or with men!

you know I just got back from Mexico and I was just thinking this...the people are so nice...they wave when they pass by in our community...but the Americans that are passing don't do anything...and I have even seen a few Americans throw their garbage bags out the window...I'm talking full bags...b/c they are too lazy to take it somewhere...

I would totally move there tomorrow...but I do want my children to be raised in the US...so Mexico will be my retirement...

I really like Mexico. But you know the deal- either you love it or you hate it. If you are bothered by poverty, and what to vacation in a sterile enviornment, it's NOT for you.

LOVED being able to hang out at the Office & Mango Deck right on the beach. They both had great food and drinks!

We also went last year for Thanksgiving (just Al & I, no pics from that trip)
