who has built their own staircase railing???

who has built their own staircase railing???

are we crazy to think we can do it ourselves and have it stay up???

ps - its only about 5 steps for our split level ranch but i am concerned that it won't work!!! there's so many pieces we saw at lowes! accck!!!

I actually helped my dad do that in my parents house a few years ago...and it's still standing!!!!

As long as you know what you're doing....should be okay.....and with only 5 steps...i say go for it!!!

We are actually in the process of doing that now, its not that bad, we bought everything at home depot and they have all the hardware you need. It is a little time consuming and fustrating if you dont know what you are doing. We also have a slpit and we have all the posts in and the top rail now we just have to put in the rails going down

we have been without a railing on our very twisty and open stairs and my DH is thinking to do it himself. He's very handy but I am still nervous. I'm glad others have done this too!
