Who has power?

I'm one of the very lucky LIers who didn't lose power from Sandy. However, LI Weddings was down for about 24 hours and I've been checking frequently to see if it's back up.

How did everybody else do in the storm? I hope everybody stayed safe, especially those of you in coastal areas!

I couldn't wait to come to work just for the electricity! I'm in Carle Place (next to Westbury) and we're definitely not getting power back any time soon. I think the worst I saw tree-wise was Garden City...unbelievable damage!

I was in the vicinity yesterday visiting my parents in Williston Park (I live in Bohemia now). They had a tree fall on their house, but thankfully only the gutter and fence was damaged. In East Williston, there was a downed tree across Roslyn Road. So that whole area was pretty rocked, tree-wise. So awful.

thank god we had power i live in port jeff station so we definatly got lucky!!! but hopefully those of you without it will get it back soon!!

Ouch, that's rough! FH has been off all week too (he's a teacher) and he's saying he'll have days taken from Memorial Day weekend and spring break.

I live in Stewart Manor and we got hit pretty bad...I don't have work the rest of the week so I'm staying at FH's house - He lives in Bellerose and never lost power!

LIPA told me today that it's going to take 5-7 days just to get an estimate on when they can come, but they anticipate 2-3 weeks until we get power back!!

my school has been badly damaged by the storm so I have a break in the middle of the year!! however, this means i'll be teaching to the very last day in june!! :(

I'm in the same boat! My school is in Glen Cove and apparently it's a mess over there! Our Easter break is going to be cut short - it definitely sucks, but I just keep telling myself that there are people who don't have vacation time like we do, so we're still lucky to have something!

Oh geeze, that's AWFUL.

Somebody told me today that some people in Garden City Park got their power back today. So maybe it won't be as long as they're saying? I hope not! Good luck and stay positive!

ughh i hope it won't be long!!!! my school is loosing our memorial break and we will go to school extended time- they won't take easter break since we are a catholic school...and not to mention i was off the 22nd because they closed our school for the nassau cop's funeral that passed away!!! i've had plenty of time to wedding plan i guess...

I'm in Brooklyn with power and no damage from the storm, but absolutely devastated for family & friends who have lost their homes..

We lost power Monday night for about 15 hours so got it back Tuesday around 930am but just got cable and internet back this afternoon. Feeling incredibly fortunate that there was no severe damage to our area but am certainly sending well wishes to all those who lost their homes.

I live in Massapequa Park. Lost power at 5:30 pm Monday and got it back around 9:30 pm Tuesday. Internet/TV/Phone got back on yesterday. We were very lucky. Tons of people are still without power here and we have no structural damage. Feel so horrible for the people who lost their homes. It's horrible.

Im in Howard Beach and got the worst of it! We had 5 ft of water in our basement and lost 3 cars. We still do not have power/hot water. This is a nightmare that I want to wake up from..... :(

We lost power in Wantagh at 7pm on Monday the 29th and our power just came back on and I could not be happier. I am so thankful that our house did not get any damage and we are all safe, but not having power or heat for almost 2 weeks was not fun. Now this gas situation is just insane
