FH has Tivo (well some version of it) as well as a media pc. that way he can record 2 shows at once -- one to the tivo and one gets saved onto a computer and he can burn it to dvd.

its all the networks fault for putting on good shows at the same time.

he loves it tho.. and it always comes in handy when i forget to tape stuff.

i love tivo - it is awesome - i rarely watch commercials now - i always watch shows on my time

plus it finds cool shows you will like

If you have cablevision, look into their new DVR. I dont have it yet but I heard its even better than tivo and its less per month than the TIVO subscription.

If I am correct, it can tape 2 shows while you watch a 3rd! which Tivo does not do!

We have TIVO and its great because somehting is aways on when we are in the moood to watch TV. However we dont watch enough tv for it to really pick up our view habits ! so right now it only tapes what we tell it to~!

i love my tivo. it's great not to have to worry that i'm going to miss something and it's great that it tapes things i didn't even know were on. definitely worth the money imo.

I work nights so my tivo tapes all the primetime shows I miss. I don't know what I'd do without it!

I got FH Tivo for his b'day last week and it's been really great. I have to work late a lot so I'd miss all the shows we watch together, like Apprentice. FH used to have to get up at 7:30 on Saturdays to watch his English league soccer, but not anymore!!

The only downside is that you can't Tivo one program while watching another. We've got 3 TVs though so that shouldn't be a problem!

We have TIVO with our direct tv. When DH said that we were going to be getting that I didn't see the point and thought that it was a waste of money, now I am not even sure how we lived without it!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!

absolutely worth the money!!! WE love our TIVO!!! It was so great to be able to tape things we missed and to watch them when there was nothing else on tv!!!

We're actually planning on switching from cable to Direct TV. I just can't take cable anymore. Way too expensive.

the differnce between tivo and cable box DVRs is the menus - my fi has one from his cable company and it is no where near as smart as tivo - the menus are hard to use and the season pass is different - but the upside to those is that you can tape more than one show - but that is not as impostant if you have more than one tv
