i am...fh is not. that was difficult at first - since i became one (again) after we had started dating...but it's all good now.
any vegetarians have a vegetarian wedding?

We're not vegetarians but there is one vegetarian choice for meal at the wedding plus tons of vegetarian friendly foods at the cocktail hour.

I am a vegetarian, and have been since 9th grade, I think like 12 or 13 years. My FH loves meat, all kinds, especially veal, which I stopped eating in 3rd grade.
Because my FH loves meat, we could not have a vegetarian menu. I used to say I would not even have Veal at my wedding, but he loves it, so I gave in.
I'm not...but I just don't really like the taste of meat...
I'll eat it occasionally though...until I start thinking about it...

DH and I are both vegetarians! I have been veggie for about 10 years now. Also we did have a vegetarian wedding...people were a bit hesitant at first but they were raving when it was all done!!!! For us, we couldn't have people celebrate us any other way!

kelly, i've been a vegetarian for 14 years.
we didn't have a vegetarian wedding though we had vegetarian and vegan options.
my best friend, who is a vegan, will have a vegan wedding when she gets married, i'm sure.
DH is not a veggie, though he eats a lot less meat since i came around.
we didn't have a veggie wedding, nor do i expect DH to become a veggie because i would never push my beliefs on someone else.
heres a question: why did you becaome a vegetarian?
as I said before...I'm not a real one...but I would start thinking about the bones in meat and gross myself out as a kid...and I ate less and less meat... maybe once or twice a month...

i had wanted a vegetarian wedding...but FH is not veg (tho he eats a lot less meat since i came around...and there is meat, as a meateater, the he will NOT eat)...and i felt that i would be pushing my beliefs on everyone had i insisted. when we throw parties, however, we don't serve meat. i cannot stand the look or smell of it - especially when it's raw.
why am i veggie? in a nutshell, i try to lead a compassionate life and i couldn't continue to eat meat in order to do so.
ETA: i don't wear leather or fur...i don't buy anything that has been tested on animals. (as far as cosmetics, cleaning products, etc. i do take migraine medication & am on b/c pills.)

I haven't eaten meat in the past 15 years...but I do eat fish and dairy products.

I am! For over 14 years now (I started YOUNG!) I started for ethical reasons, so I don't eat fish or chicken either, and I also don't wear leather, fur or buy products which have animal-based ingredients. The wedding wasn't a vegetarian wedding, but we made sure to have many options for those that were veg. Its so frustrating to go somewhere and have only one 'choice'!!!

my reasons are ethical. i can't bring myself to eat something that was stuffed with drugs to get plump then killed in the most inhumane manner. and every time i look at my pets, i think, what if you had been a pig? same personality, just a pig. i couldn't eat my pet, i couldn't eat something with a personality. as my sister puts it, she doesn't eat things with faces.
besides, humans don't need meat to survive.
i will HOWEVER eat meat when i am pregnant. the human i will be nuturing will not be subject to my beliefs without his or her say in the matter.

I eat chicken every now and then, but have not had red meat in 13 years. Just don't like the taste. I proudly wear leather on my feet though, sorry
