I normally hate crowded bars, too, but I've never gone out on 3/17 and I just want to try it once...

You've never gone out on St. Patrick's day? Where are you going? In Manhattan or White Plains?
I used to go out with a big group & it got pretty crazy. . .but this year I am going home & making cookies.
I actually want to go out to dinner at a local bar that has a really good chopped salad, but I am afraid it will be too crazy.

NO WAY!!!!!! Did it once here in NYC and that was enough. Besides, DH has class early on Saturday and I have an audition.

Re: Who is braving the bar tonight?
On New Year's Eve and St. Pat's day the bars are too crowded for me and too many amateurs come out - so I like to hang out at a friends house or stay home. Tonight though, I am meeting DH after work for dinner to celebrate my new Job!! but we will go home after that.

I haven't - it just never crossed my mind (I'm so not Irish). I'm going to start in Manhattan and probably end up somewhere on Mamaroneck Avenue, though I have to say, I'm not a big fan of the White Plains bars.

I'm not a fan of bars in general, but I like to go to Lazy Boys for dinner sometimes--they have an excellent chopped salad! And a good selction of beer.
And one of the nearby ones ( James Joyce, maybe?) has mini White Castle-like burgers.

I like the Lazy Boy better than James Joyce (If I have them straight). DH likes the two bars close to Nordstrom - they're good old hole in the wall bars.

I do not go out on St. Patrick's Day or Thanksgiving Eve, after I almost got elbowed in the face and then almost punched by a guy when I tried to remove HIS elbow from my face!!!!!!!!
Every drunken nightmare is out tonight and I don't feel like dealing with it......
