Who is doing or did Lamaze?

I am undecided on this. Is it worth it? I think I might take it at the hospital DH works at but I am not sure if its worth the $. What do you guys think?

I just finished Lamaze last week. We went for three sessions. I felt it was worth going because of the 'just in case' I can't get pain medication. We were able to tour the hospital. The classes were okay. They did answer some unknowns for me. My dh and I felt it was worth it. Actually, my dh felt he got more out of it than I did. I think he is a little nervous about coaching me along. He got some good pointers.

We are taking a class called Prepared Childbirth which includes Lamaze as well as other things, like caring for a newborn, pain relief options, tour of Labor & Delivery...it is offered at the hospital, but we had to pay a lot!

Mine was $150 and sooo not worth it. Once I was in labor all that faster breathing stuff made it hurt sooo much worse than slow even breathing.

I signed up for it, but I am not takeing it until October. I figured it cou;dn't hurt to take the class.

I need a class for my DH, this is his first (my second) and I'm afraid that he knows nothing about what is going to happen.

We're signed up for lamaze, it starts next weekend.

We also signed up for a childbirth prep class... 4 sessions... the last session we get a tour of the hospital... that is the part I'm looking the most forward to.

I'm doing a 1 day class at St.Charles hospital on July 31st (i'll be 36 weeks). It has lamaze and a tour of the hospital.

I did the same thing as Danirn.. it was over two days and it was so woth it.. it made us very prepared.

We just finished lamaze and I thought it was worth it. I did it mostly for my husband so he would feel more comfortable having some knowledge about labor and childbirth. He said that he learned alot. It was also nice meeting other couples in the area.

We took it and ended up getting our $150 fee back because they screwed up one of the classes on us and never showed, so we had to go back for a make-up session. I think it was worth it, in a sense that it made us aware of what would happen. We didn't necessarily take it for the breathing exercises, we took it to be informed and get our tour of the LDR and maternity ward.

I don't know if we would do it. I think it will scare me (and him) more than help

Six years ago it was so worth it. There are things you dont realize and take for granted. I took it and then ended up having a c-section ( so it that respect it wasnt worth it) But what you learn it balances out
