Who is getting married on sunday?

What time is your ceremony and reception? Our old place was going to do ceremony at 5:30, then cocktail hours and then recepetion at 7. Now at milleredge inn everything is going to start at least half an hour later! I am worried the people are going to want to leave early 'cause it's sunday they they got to go to work the next day! Is anyone else paranoid about that?

My ceremony is 3:30 pm, cocktails 6:30-8, wedding 8-midnight. I figure if they're gonna be there anyway, might as well go til the wee hours.

I am getting married at the Westbury Manor on a Sunday - my church is at 3pm and my reception cocktail hour begins at 6pm. I am not paranoid about people leaving earlier - I am sending out STD cards so those who need to travel a distance have plenty of advanced notice to take off the next day. I have done it for numerous Sundays and even Fri weddings! Don't worry - it will be a party!

I'm a Sunday bride too. My cocktail hour starts at 12:00-1:00. Reception is 1-5. I have a few out of town guests and I think a few of them are planning on driving home, plus I know alot of people have to work the next day.

Re: Who is getting married on sunday?

My wedding is on a sunday as well...i was freaking out about this too. most of the sunday weddings i have been too people started leaving around 10:30. i searched everywhere for a church that would let me start at 1:30-2 and i am going to start reception at 5-10:30. there is also a cigar/jazz hour after from 10:30-11:30...but i figure less than half the guests will attend.
Honestly, i think it depends on your guests...are your family and friends the type that will stay late no matter what? if so then i wouldn't worry

Re: Who is getting married on sunday?

We did cocktail hour at 6pm, dinner from 7 -11 at Milleridge. People stayed until about 10:30 after the cake was done. I worried about that too b/c it was a Sunday. You can probably do the ceremony at 5:30 or they won't let you??

I am getting married on a Sunday also, although it is the day before a holiday, so no one has to work the next day. I do have people traveling, though. I wouldn't worry about it. The people who are going to stay are going to stay no matter what time it ends! You are always going to have people that leave early. Remember it's your day-don't stress! Make it whatever time is good for YOU!

My church is at 3:30 cocktails 6-7 and reception 7-11:30 I hope people still party and have a good time, guess I will just hope for the best. Those people that want to be there will stay and those that would leave early would probably leave early anyway no matter what night it was on.

I'm also a Sunday bride. Ceremony is at 3pm, cocktail hour at 6, reception from 7-12. I was really worried about people leaving too, but some people will leave early no matter what day it is. And I know that our closests friends and relatives will be partying with us till the end. I wouldn't worry about it, just enjoy your day!!

Re: Who is getting married on sunday?

Another Sunday bride here.

I was worried too, but so far guests I've spoken with said they'd have no problem calling in the next day & plan on doing just that! :) Thought somebody would get that Mon. off cuz its Columbus Day but . . . In addition, we're sending STD cards as an advance reminder of the day/date.

Anyways, ceremony will start at 3:00pm or 3:30pm. Reception will run either 5-10pm or 6-11pm (cocktail hour during the 1sr hr). I'm leaning towards 5-10 to be considerate of those who may not wanna take the next day off. BUt ITA taht some peeps are gonna leave early no matter what day it is so just enjoy your day! Have a great one! :)

Re: Who is getting married on sunday?

I was a Sunday bride. Mass at 3:30, cocktail hour at 6, reception started at 7pm. Just about everyone stayed until the reception was over at 11pm. I wouldn't worry about people leaving too much. No matter what time your wedding reception begins, people will leave when they want to leave.

Re: Who is getting married on sunday?

Our wedding was a Sunday. The reception went until 5. Most people stayed until the end. In fact, the next wedding started late because they could not round up our guests fast enough, the DJ kept us going until the end. The next day was a holiday, but a lot of people still had to work.

On an aside, as long as you have high energy and are up and enjoying yourselves, don't be concerned that people won't feel festive or won't want to dance and eat and drink at an afternoon or a Sunday wedding.
