who is giving photographer a list of pics to be taken (poll)

I want to know if I should give the photographer a list of pictures that I want taken.

Where did you get the list from?

Nah, I trusted my photographer to take the important pics and candids throughout our day. That's why we chose them and they did an amazing job!

But, I know a lot of girls do this... not sure if it's a list or a bunch of 'must take' pics that they give. I'd feel kinda wierd giving my photog a bunch of pics taken by another photographer... if you really want to do it maybe just a typed out list of the pics you def want?

My photog had an online check list of important pics that I filled out.

There are some photos I had to warn them about that I want with my huge family, so those are on my must take list.

I did not give them a list I made up- they had a checklist and I checked off the photos I wanted (the standard ones). As for 'candid' ones - well I wanted them to be candid - and if I gave them examples of what I wanted, then they wouldn't be candid, would they?

I gave a list...but mainly it was a timeline of the day and the type of pick to be taken at each location ..church , beach reception.. I did it mainly to help the photographer get all the family stuff right...(granparents aunts uncles etc)... otheriwise I wouldnt of bothered..I have compelte 100 % confidence in my photogtapher.

Duet actually has a must take list posted on their site - they ask their Brides to check off the ones they wanted. I did that, and then added some that I thought were missing.

I gave a written list and a contact sheet with small versions of pictures that I wanted taken. Mostly it was to show the style of pictures I wanted. Sherwood Triart did a great job trying to get all my shots.

The only list I gave was of family group pictures. Because my DH's parents are divorced, there were all different combinations and we wanted to make sure no one was insulted.

Other than those, I just let the photographers do their thing...

you don't have to but it's a good idea if you have specific requests. One of my friends didn't get a pic. of her grandmother b/c they didn't realize she was who she was.

I think I am just going to give them a list of people I definitely want in the pictures. I know nothing about photography and we only have an hour and 1/2 to take pictures, so I dont think it would be enough time to recreate a lot of shots.

True, and I love all the true candids that my photographers got. But for certain things like detail shots, I didn't want to take any chances. So maybe for the certain posed or detail shots a list is best.
