Kids are welcome at our ceremony which will be outdoors in the park with our dogs. The reception is adults only.

Re: Who is inviting Children?
Well, my nieces and nephews are invited to the wedding. My fiance's parents were like no you shouldn't have kids there, but I don't plan on having some big, stuffy affair, and I said they're invited. But my siblings said they would just be there for the cocktail hour and then someone would pick them up so that they can relax for the rest of the dinner. So that's their choice.

Re: Who is inviting Children?
We just want our jr. bridesmaid and ring bearer (FH's niece and nephew). There is no need for more kids and I want everyone to enjoy themselves and not have to worry if whether their kids are getting into trouble or not

Re: Who is inviting Children?
I tried to say NO FREAKIN KIDS but FMIL has young children so I couldn't do that.
Then I tried to say NO FREAKIN KIDS except for immediate family but FSIL gave FH a nasty attitude and a real hard time over it so...
I tried to say NO FREAKIN KIDS under 9 years old, but FSIL's son is only 5 and she threw another fit.
SOOOOOO FMIL and FSIL's both get to bring their kids and I had to take adult guests off the list to seat them. Obviously, I'm thrilled to death over it

Re: Who is inviting Children?
Yes. There are two in the bridal party (ages 7 & 10) and a few younger ones will be invited. It's up to their parents not to bring them (they already said they were finding babysitters so they can party!). I didn't feel right telling people they couldn't bring their children so I'm leaving it up to them.

Re: Who is inviting Children?
For us, we feel that a wedding is an adult-only party. We even, at one point, went so far as to say that the 2 FGs weren't invited to the reception - that they had to leave after CH! And that was mostly b/c there are other young children in the family and we didn't want to stir anything up...but we've since laxed and relented and the 2 FGs - whom we adore - will be there the whole night.

Re: Who is inviting Children?
I am having lots of kids, about 30 total. I can't help it, I love children. I have been to so many weddings and I honestly had so much fun at the ones that kids were there. They are always out dancing on the dance floor. And tey are just so darn cute.

Re: Who is inviting Children?
We kinda have to, FH & I have 2 little ones of our own and we can't have them there and not let any of our other friends & family not bring theirs. I say the more kiddies the better, I am planning on hiring a few sitters to entertain the rug-rats so the grown-ups can have a little fun.

Re: Who is inviting Children?
We had kids and I am so happy we stuck with our decision. they were so good and we loved having them there.
DH's brothers kids, DH's first cousin and my first cousins children
at the last minute a good friend of the fmaily asked to bring her 18 month...and she was a doll
but I had an afternoon wedding...this is probably different for evenings...

Re: Who is inviting Children?
We're inviting kids - we've always wanted to have kids at our wedding, but we are limiting it to out of town kids and children we're close to. In addition to the fact that we do want kids there, we are getting married later than many of our friends (most of whom live out of town) and, if we didn't have kids at the wedding/reception, our friends would not be able to attend (we didn't want to ask them to leave their children with strangers).

Re: Who is inviting Children?
We invited only two children under 5 (my 1st cousins), and as it turns out 3 additional children under 6 are coming. We are having a very late reception, what is wrong with parents, why do they feel their young children have to attend an evening reception?

Re: Who is inviting Children?
FH has a 11 year old brother that will be in our bridal part and my 2 year old nephew will be the ring bearer - other than that though we only allowing 18 year olds with the exemption of FH's one cousin that is 15.

Re: Who is inviting Children?
Yes, we will. To avoid any of that b.s. with our family, we just said everyone can come. But as for the parents bringing them to a 7PM reception? that's another story. I don't plan on too many of them coming. But who knows.
