I am watching now-- I just got home-- while I am half listening- I have not heard anything important except GWB stuttering.

(Said in all seriousness) It's great to see you are strong in your position! It's important to stand by your candidate. From my end, I have noticed already that there are alot of Bush supporters who are uncomfortable with how he played tonight - I just got off the phone with two. It's okay to admit when someone does not perform well - it does not mean you don't stand by him. Kerry has certainly performed poorly, and I can admit to that.

I stand corrected on the word transhipment - thank you for pointing that out! Perhaps it was because it was surrounded by so much stuttering, pauses, angry faces, and body shifting that I thought it was fake.

Might I just say that I am not saying any of this to start controversy - I was raised by two very conservative Bush supporters who I love dearly.

I love a healthy debate and peple who are passionate about their beliefs- to me, the wost kind of person is someone who is not involved in what is going on at all, does not read, watch the debtes, or even watch the news, and is adament about a certain candidate because of the political party they represent! I have actually heard someone say recently 'Well, I'm a republican, so I guess I have to vote for Bush.' Argh!

Anyway, I digress...I am looking forward to this election - I think it is going to be close!

FH and I are both Republicans. I'm voting for Kerry though and he's still supporting Bush (no matter what, it seems to me). Even FH admited that Kerry did better tonight with answering the questions.

Wow, everyone is saying Kerry won. That's kind of funny to me. I think they both did a good job, rather I think that people got a chance to know Kerry better. Bush, well we all know how he is as a public speaker. Prior to the debates I was undecided, but didn't really want to vote for Bush but was unsure of Kerry. I don't know after seeing 911 I kind of felt sorry for Bush. I mean the man is only human.
I'm a little bit more assured of Kerry, but I think he makes a lot of promises that he may not be able to keep. Come on, the man can't do EVERYTHING better than GWB. 'I can do it better.' I think he ened almost every sentence like that. Did anyone notice that Bush never answered the question if he thought the world would be less safe if Kerry was elected President? He was like I'm going to win. I can't even see that happening so I can't speculate (ok, those were not his exact words, but close enough). That's Bush.

I think Kerry won decisively. I've been a fan of Kerry's for years, but like so many people I've been so frustrated by his campaign. FINALLY he's eloquent, intelligent, focused and clear!

as for Bush, oh my. . . i'm sure he's a nice guy - but omg is this the BEST they can do with his public speaking style?

I mean, politics aside - there isn't ANYONE who can train him to deliver a sentence without stuttering or wincing or pausing for 10 seconds? I love that there were cameras on them all the time and you could see reaction shots.

i know it is ok to admit when someone does poorly......I think Kerry did very well last night... but IMO i think Bush did better. I will not be voting for the first time in my life on nov 2 because of our presidents public speaking ability... or lack there of. I dont pretend to be overly involved in politics, I dont vote for a 'republican' because i consider myself to be one. I take into account a person's views, and see whose are more like mine.... and that is who would get my vote. Dont get me wrong, i dont agree with a lot of Bush's views, i so wish he would vote for stem cell research that it almost swayed my vote... but at the end of the night, i know i feel safe because bush is in office, that is just my opinion, and thanks to this great country, we are all entitled to one. i feel Bush made quite a few good points, yes he babbles and stutters, but i believe he is passionate and I like that. kerry clearly won style points, his voice is commanding and he is polished, however he does flip flop, and in the world today, we cannot afford to have an indecisive president. I cant believe people complain that we caught hussein instead of OBL, ofcourse we all want OBL, but if you believe hussein wasnt a threat then u should get some help.
I personally know someone who lost their life in this war, if his president had said this war was the 'wrong war, wrong place, wrong time', his death would be for nothing in his eyes. you cannot say help is on the way, and then vote against the funding!
The bottom line is.... I will vote for Bush, I hope he wins. If Kerry wins, i will respect him as the president of our country. I dont agree with all the bashing, and i think Bush should be supported while he is still in office because he is our 'leader'. it should be a great election, i look forward to the next debate!

So anyway, enough of politics and on to weddings....

Re: WHo is planning to watch the debates tonight?

Thank You for your intelligent reply! I'm glad you did not think I was trying to start trouble - I am just passionate!

I would just like to say that I think Kerry cleared up the 'flip flop' accusations quite nicely. He agreed with the decision to go to war, but after seeing how the president was handling it, disagreed. The Republicans just keep throwing that accusation around because it's all they have on him. I was the same way - I was all for going to the middle east, but this war has gotten completely out of control, innocent people are dying, and people, not just in the middle east, are stark raving mad, and chopping heads left and right! SO, I changed my mind and now I disagree with the war. As an American, this is my right, and it was John Kerrys right. I would rather a man who can look at what is going on and adjust accordingly - not a blind, rash, quick decision maker who will make a potential mistake and then NEVER own up to it.

This war on teror is only happening in countries that have some sort of profit for us. There is so much terror in this world, but we have no interest in the people dying in Africa or Northern Ireland - just where the goods are! I think we need to remember above all, that politics are a business.

It will be interesting to see where this election goes!

Thanks for being an involved American - it's nice to see.

ps - I am very sorry to hear about your friend - I DO support the troops.

bunny.... youre welcome, and thank you for yours as well!! you sound very passionate, and we need more people like you, SMART passionate people.
its ironic, i know a few people who are scattered throughout the middle east right now. the Marine that i mentioned who died, i went to middle school with, we were very close then, its funny cause he looked just like my cousin, so we used to pretend to be cousins. no suprise he ended up becoming a marine, he was always big brother ish. but then he went to a different high school... and i havent spoken to him in literally years... with every name you hear or face you see, it breaks your heart, but when its someone you know, or in my case knew, it just sticks in your head.
i can tell by your response that you support our troops, no matter what happens, we always have to support them, they volunteer their lives to protect our right to have this conversation!!!!

its been fun, '05 girls rock!!
