I did and it didnt work. People still invited their friends. Just don't put the number and call the ones that go over board.

I did, put I recently found out it should be' # of people attending', my sister thought 'number of guests' was how many people she is bringing!!!!! Now granted she hasn't been to many weddings, but I see how this could be an issue!!

i did it---and only one person tried to change it--DH's bro and SIL--they have balls. they changed the 2 to a 7!!!!!!!!! (yeah they didn't come at all in the end)

i say go for it, at least if its on the RSVP, you are giving them forewarning....if someone changes it, you call them up and make sure you say 'this is why i had the RSVP # there, cause we are on a budget and can't afford for you to just bring anyone'

:lo:

we worded it like this:

'We have reserved xxx places in your honor'

some ppl changed it to a 1 if they were coming single, otherwise it was left as is for the most part.

I put the number on my RSVP's and DH aunt change the number from 1 to 4
So, I called her a told her No, only her not her 'favor of the month' and friends.
She got mad and said she wasn't coming, but came anyway, by herself.

This is how we worded it as well. It caused some problems with people who didn't like the number of seats we reserved but better we find out now then on the wedding day! I say go for it!

I did it for some of the guests. You know when you have to do it cuz some people think Mr. & Mrs. includes themselves, their 3 kids, their mother-in-law, and the pet dog Scruffy.

I did - although mine reads

M____________________

__ accept with pleasure
__ of __ will attend

__ decline with regret

I am going to prefill in the second line with the actual number of people invited... 2, 4 etc. That way it's clear how many are actually invited.
