Re: Who knows Shea Stadium well?
I know it!...
For whatever reason, I've never been crazy about field level. (You may get more foul balls hit that way.. but that's never been a big thing to me. If you can..
Go.. LOGE INNER BOX.
Even if you are down the first or third base lines.. you still have a great view.
And you're sitting together in a box.. not in a whole row of people. I will predict that you will want to concetrate on the game and each other.. not some guy asking you to pass his beer down. (Not that us Met fans want to drink beer.... we just need to drink to beer.. it helps us along... )
I hope it's a warm day or night and that the METS WIN! LET'S GO METS!!!

Re: Who knows Shea Stadium well?
Thanks so much for your reply! I was looking at a field inner box but checked the view on seatdata.com and wasn't impressed. From what is available now it looks like I am in between a mezzinine box seats on the first base line or a loge reserved behind the plate but slightly towards first. I would assume the loge reserved b/c it's lower but the price is less than the higher up mezzanine...i guess b/c mezzanine is a box and loge is 'reserved'/not a box. Best available brings up the mezzanine. Ugh, I don't know what to do!

Re: Who knows Shea Stadium well?
Ok I got the tix! I just picked b/c I couldn't stand thinking about it anymore! I got Sat. night tix to Mets Vs Rockies. Seats are Mezz. box 14, along the third base line so we can still see into the dugout (according to people on Google groups). It's 574c seats 3 and 4. Did I do good? I wanted better seats, but the ones in the field box, inner I could have gotten were on a day earlier in the season. Some of the others have disappeared since this morning. I think he'll be happy either way!

You did good! Box seats are always better than sitting in a row. IMO
Hope that you can sell these tickets to either friend/family or co-worker.. and that whatever game you go to .. the Mets win!
But definitely .. going with box seats is the best thing to do. He'll like them.

Re: Who knows Shea Stadium well?
Thanks! I'm glad to know that b/c the seats I got for the next day were also Mezz. box. But these are on the first baseline. Wish me luck selling them...I only want back what I paid for them. I'll put a flyer up at work after vacation. Do you know if it is worth it to eBay them if I can't sell them myself?

Re: Who knows Shea Stadium well?
I'd have to say against the Rockies, it's not worth it to ebay them. You have good seats, so putting up a flyer at work should do the trick.
Mezzanine is my favorite place to sit. That's where my season plan tickets are.

Re: Who knows Shea Stadium well?
Good to know about eBaying these! I'll be putting up a flyer in my school and my mother's school, so I hope that works!
Thanks for letting me know that the seats are good. I had no idea if there were or not! seatdata.com wasn't too much help but did help some. OctGroom helped me a whole bunch!!!!
