Re: Who makes a toast at the wedding?
It all depends on who you and your FI want to speak. As many say, tradition is constantly changing. Here are some folks who may (or may not) want to speak:Best Man
Maid of Honor
Father/Mother of the Bride
Father/Mother of the Groom
Groom
Bride
I have been to enough weddings to see at each of these take their turns. Another option for toasts are at the Rehearsal Dinner.

Re: Who makes a toast at the wedding?
I've seen mostly the BM and sometimes the MOH. I don't know if I'll have my MOH (sister) speak at the wedding - but I certainly expect that there will be many speeches at the RD.

Re: Who makes a toast at the wedding?
At ours the MOH and Best Man did.I also dedicated a song to my DH and gave a little speech with that.
I think it's totally up to you. No set rules for toasts. I would just say don't have too many people toast because then it can take up a lot of time.

Re: Who makes a toast at the wedding?
We are only going to have the best man make the toast. I think if you have too many people making toasts others will get bored

Re: Who makes a toast at the wedding?
Our best man (Dh's brother) and one groomsman (my brother) gave toasts. They were both fantasticI didn't care who did a toast - i felt that if someone wanted to take their time to toast me and DH on our special day, I was honored that they wuould do so.
DH and I also toasted our parents later in the evening, we wanted to pay tribute to them and honor them (we gave both our MOm's roses). I could hardly get thru the speech myself I started getting hysterical, and every single person at my reception was crying .. even the men

I did my job

Re: Who makes a toast at the wedding?
At the RD it was me and DH. At the wedding we had both Best Men and MOH and my grandmother read the Irish Blessing.

Re: Who makes a toast at the wedding?
At mine, MOH and BM did then my Mom did one later in the night. I WISH I didn't remember what my NOH said! She didn't mean it the way it sounded. She was trying to express that we have been through a lot together, we have been friends for 34 years. She said something like 'we have both been through MANY men'. The place was dead silent before everyone started laughing.

Re: Who makes a toast at the wedding?
Our BM, DH's twin brother, gave the most phenominl speech I've ever heard and then my sister, MOH, said a few words.
