My mom did - 7 years ago - before anyone was doing it, and when they charged by the minute!

And my brother met his fiance online - I met someone who I lived with, although it didn't work out in the long run - I still reccomend it to all of my single friends ~ congrats ~ oh, and BTW, moms husband moved here from Florida for her!

we met online, but not in the usual manner.. we both played the same online video game... common interest, etc.. so we got talking. found out we lived so close (could have been in another country for all we knew, but he was around the corner!!).

We met, and have been inseparable since.

I did in the wierdest way, He sent an IM to his friend & typed in a wrong letter & instead got me! (thats what we tell people)-- but truth is we met at Love@AOL, my friend set up an ad for me and he answered and wow was he persistant!

I did but my fh won't own up to it and tells everyone we met where we went on our first date!!! Now he told so many people that I can't tell anyone the truth except you guys!!!! lol If I told, it would be a big mess.

Love@aol for us too! I typed in exactly what I was looking for & I got it! It was a lot of fun reading all the responses!!! I always tell people to try it. It much safer than going to a club to meet people.

We didn't tell anybody at first either, @ my bachlorette party someone said something about it & my step-Mom was horrified! I guess I never told her the real story!

My FH didn't want to tell any of his family and friends that we met online. He didn't know how they would take it. All of my family and friends knew, since I had met a number of people from the internet by that time (oh, do I have stories! )

After our 1st year, that's when he became ok with the idea of telling people. Most thinks it's cool.

Besides, my cousin married a guy she met through AOL and my sister met her boyfriend through ny.matchmaker.com as well.

I did!

I was home in a cast from a car accident & was sitting at my computer looking for someone to chat with & found him online. That was Feb 99. We didn't meet face to face until July 99 and we have been together ever since!

i did too.. we met through Swoon.com which doesn't even have the ads anymore... it took us 3 months to meet and when we did, that was it.
