Whoever wants to host one for you. Generally it's the BP and sometimes the Mom's chip in.

I think it depends on your situation. My mom & FMIL are paying for mine. My mom paid for the whole thing for my sister, her MIL didn't offer to pay and when asked - refused. Even though her guests accounted for more then half. What was my mom to do, it was her daughter.

It is whoever offers to throw it.
The correct 'old school' etiquette says that the bride's immediate family should NOT host the shower (meaning moms, sisters, etc.) and that it should be a more distant relative or friend b/c if the brides immediate family throws the shower it is like they are imposing on ppl to give gifts to their daughter/sister.
WHATEVER!!
I have never heard of that ever being followed! My mom and my sister (MOH) will be paying for mine. Good luck!

My mother and maybe FMIL. I wouldn't put that kind of $$$$$ burden on my bridal party.. JMO but some times the bridal party chips in and does it

In my situation, there are only 3 in the BP and my mom. It can get expensive. I think my FMIL should offer to help out.

My mother paid for mine. And every time I've been in a bridal party the mom has paid. I think it really depends on everyone's situation. My mother was able to pay and didn't want to burden the girls with more expenses.

My BP is paying for mine. My MOH, my sister, is putting in the bulk of the money and asked each BM for $150.

My mom paid for my entire shower. She didn't want to burden the bridal party.
But, in the last wedding I was in, the BP paid for entire shower and neither mom chipped in.

whoever wants in my case my mom paid so the BP could get us a better gift and my fmil was 'kind enough' to buy the favors
