the parents pay.
My aunt already told me to pick out whatever I want and she doesnt care what it costs but Im not gonna go crazy and make her spend alot on a dress her daughter can wear once.

it is usually the parents of the child but if you can budget it it would be nice to pick up the costs.
my friend is purchasing my daughters dress for her wedding.
if my daughter is the same size the following easter it could be used as her easter dress.
or even using the dress as her halloween costume she can be a little bride since i'm thinking about the FG's wearing little veils anyway it can be reused or even as a dress up thing.

The parents usuallly pay, but if you wanted to give it as a gift i think that would be a really nice idea

My FH Cousins daughter is our flower girl and his parents volunteered to pay for it.

i paid - only because it was a miniature of mine and cost almost 200 - didnt think it was fair for my cousin to pay for my little crazy ideas

good point...price is the issue...if it something expensive you HAVE to have...then i say you have to pay for it..
