Who Pays for it

Ladies,

Who pays for the BM dresses? Does the bride pay for the dresses or the BMs pay for the dresses or is it up for grabs?

I want to do the right thing here....what's appropiate

i'm pretty sure the BM's pay for their dresses. i'm only having a MOH so i decided to pay for it.

My BM are paying for it. I am having 10 BM so if I paid for it I would go broke faster.

I'm pretty sure BM. I do know my MOH sister-in-law put 50.00 towards each bridesmaid dress, but thats just what she did......

All of my BM are fine with paying for them.......

I've had to pay for all my BM dresses.

ETA: (When I was a BM - not that I'm paying for my BM's. I worded that badly. )

I've been a BM in 4 weddings and have always paid for my own dress.

The BM's pay for their dresses & their shoes. Unless you decide to purchase the accessories for them.

Oh Yes!!! I totally forgot about this... when my MOH got married last year she put I think $50 or $60 towards each dress. We didn't know that going in.. she did it on the sly!
It was very nice of her though!

i think typically the BM's pay for the dresses themselves, although if you have the money to contribute, i'm sure they would love you for it! unfortunately, i can't pay for mine. i really wish i could!

The BM's pay for their dresses, but if you chose something unreasonably expensive, then customarily you would at least chip in . . . . Standard range, they pay.

see I don't understand this.

It's like the only thing that is mind boggoling for me to understand.

I definitely understand that most of us would go broke if we paid for the bridesmaid dresses, but if we are asking them to be OUR bridesmaids, why do they have to pay for their own dresses? Aren't they doing us a favor?

3 of the weddings I was a BM in, the brides paid for the dresses, and granted, they weren't spectacular but its what they wanted.

I am fortunate enough (thank god) for the entire wedding cost to be split down the middle by both sides of parents, and my mom says that she wants to pay for the BM dresses, so I am ok with it, but now I dont understand. Should we be asking the BMs to pay or should we just go ahead and pay?
