Traditionally, the song is a dedication from the Daughter/Son, so they pick the song..... but that's just tradition, you can do whatever makes you comfortable.

I downloaded some songs on a cd and I will have my dad pick out which song he would like.
It all depends. When my brother was young my mother used to hear this Irish song & said when Kevin get's married I will dance to this song w/ him. And sure enough my brother granted her wish!
