who picks wedding songs?

we haven't even picked a dj yet, but so far nonstop arguing about wedding songs. our entrance, bridal party entrance, and I'm sure any other songs we'll have to pick we will argue about! who is supposed to pick them? we're both the most stubborn people in the world, and have totally different types of music taste. he loves heavy metal, I love Maroon5, the killers, and all kinds of dance music. I think my music is better for a wedding, it's easier to dance to Justin Timberlake, than Kiss (who he loves) did anyone else have these problems?

it all started when I said how cool it'd be to come into the killers mr. brightside (as our entrance song). and he gave me a look like I was completely nuts.

I like mr. brightside, but aren't the lyrics about jealousy and a relationship that never came to fruition?

why not let him give you 3 choices for an entry song (with you only having veto power-but you must select one), and you pick the first dance list (with him having veto power/selecting one)

metal is less appropriate for a first dance than your music, but it could work as an entry. That way you're both somewhat happy.

I just thought the begining of the song was great, not exactly the lyrics. our first dance song is going to be our song. it's a song he picked. one day he said oh this song reminds me of you, and it became our song. I just wanna come into something good. I hate kiss, and I don't want to come into heavy metal screaming music.

he just doesn't understand that my whole side, and my family wants dance music. he wants rock and heavy metal. I can't see everyone getting up and dancing to heavy metal. at least not on my side. the most annoying part is his friends don't dance, he just wants heavy metal to be played for the hell of it. sort of like just backround music. a wedding is only so long, I don't want every 5 minutes everyone sitting down just listening to kiss, and getting bored because they can't dance to it.

I can see what 3 songs he comes up with. if my family sees I'm unhappy they won't let it happen. they were already upset when he kept arguing for tons of rock music. my cousin just got married, he loves heavy metal, rock music. but mostly at the wedding was dance music, he had maybe 2 songs played that he liked. I mean I love rock music also but it just doesn't seem wedding type music. I want music that everyone will be up and dancing to. I think he just likes to give me a hard time.

an entrance song is only played for like 20 seconds isn't it? it seems like sucha stupid thing to argue about. I tried to compromise also with the bridal party entrance, we have about 8 on each side. I said for the first 4 I pick, then the last 4 you pick the song. he doesn't exactly like that idea either. *sighs*
