Do you mean at the alter? If so then this is the pretty traditional part of the ceremony... i wouldn't say that 27 and 32 is too old to include this considering most people are this age or older... If you think you don't want to include this talk to the priest and see what they can do
Is your father walking you down the aisle? If so, then he presents you to be married. I don't think age matters here. When FH and I get married I will be 28 and he will be 30. My father is walking me down the aisle, and therefore, he presents me.
