Where do you go? My street is too bumpy. There is one paved bike trail near my house but the hills are too steep. WHen I go down the hill I can't stop or slow down!!! Can someone recommend somewhere in Suffolk County?
Thanks

DO you go on the boardwalk? I thought that would be really bumpy! Or do you mean that path that leads to the golf course?
I live right near there so that might be good. I live in Kings Park

Re: Who Rollerblades?
julz there's a path along the wantagh parkway...i'm sure you've seen it before, where people skate and ride bikes and run....
it's actually along the parkway.
you can get there two ways, there's a park in wantagh, i can get the name if you're interested...i usually go there park, then rollerblad to the end and that brings you by the jones beach theatre and then i turn around and go back.
it's pretty neat...you go over some brdiges and stuff and the asphalt is really smooth...
i love it :O)

Re: Who Rollerblades?
I don't wear them but I really need to get them. The other day I was going down a hill so fast (not on purpose, because of gravity)and I couldn't stop. My FH had to basically tackle me to stop me I didn't get hurt but it is bound to happen soon!

Re: Who Rollerblades?
Hi girls. Im jumping into this thread. Ive been DYING to rollerblade again, I havent in about 2yrs i thought it was not allowed on the boardwalk? (bikes or rollerblades)
Any other suffolk locations?
even the tracks at the schools are not allowed right? and that would be soo great, they are sooo smooth!

Re: Who Rollerblades?
Hi Anna, I don't think it is allowed on the boardwalk. When I got mine my FH and I went around the neighborhood. He doesn't want to do that anymore because he is afraid someone will see us! We live in Kings Park and there is a new paved bike trail (along the side of the old psycho center). It is really a nice trail but one part is a long gradual downhill. It is scary to go down it because I can't slow myself down. Going up the hill is good exercise though.

Re: Who Rollerblades?
To slow down, use your break on hte back of the skate or form a T (well a reverse T) using the straighter skate to slow you down. It's easy if you practice a little.
