I watched it last night.. my god!!! I was hysterical... Everyone in the living room was crying- we couldnt hear a pin drop. I had no idea what the premise of the movie was besides boxing so I was blown away by the story.. I loved the movie, thought Clint East wood and Hilary Swank were awesome... made me cry the whole night!!!! ETA of course Morgan Freeman was amazing. But I felt the connection between clint and hilary was amazing!

When I saw this movie , noone had seen it and I SO wanted to talk about it but everyone I knew thought it was a 'boxing movie' and I kept saying it was SO much more than that!
I absolutely LOVED this movie- I was just sobbing, AND DH was practically in tears at the end himself (and nothing moves him to tears, trust me!)
I agree - Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman totally deserved their Oscars for their performances..
ETA: I agree that the father/daughter connection between Swank and Eastwood was the part of the movie that really 'did it' for me.. I normally don't like Clint as an actor, but he gave a really touching performance.. the scene where he tells her what her 'boxing name' means just made me break down uncontrollably

I cried like a little girl with a skinned knee at this movie. I was really sobbing. It was such a powerful movie.

I was HYSTERICAL!!!! I even continued to cry on the car ride home from the theater. I have never had such an emotional response to a movie before.
Excellent movie and all oscars won were well deserved.
