Who says Grace at the reception?

Our catering hall asked us if we wanted to have someone say Grace before dinner.....who usually does it? Does it matter?

good lord....i just got married there and my DH's grandmother did it (she's super religious) and it was pretty bad lol.......she said grace and then proceeded to thank my MIL for the shuttle service....and that was it. It was commical....ya had to be there. Wonder if LOTS is biting off our wedding lol they never asked us if we wanted this, we told them

In answer to your i'd say ask someone who knows how to do it, can speak in public, and won't say something totally ridiculous at the end

We did and it was very much appreciated by the older people at our reception, and since my FIL is a pastor it was expected we would do this

At our wedding it will be FH's uncle. He is a priest and he is also doing our wedding mass.

Are you close with any of your parish priests? If not you can have a family member do it.

I am going to ask a family member to do it. I don't think the priest is going to the wedding
