who tips maitre'd?

Was wondering who typically tips the maitre'd.

I mean like who pays? I have heard that the bride's family is supposed to pay is that accurate?

i havent heard of this...i mean i guess if you go back to old school tradition, the parents of the bride pay for EVERYTHING so yes the tip would be included

but i think this day in age no one is that fortunate to have one side pay for the entire wedding (and if you are - i am jealous!)
i know when we would budget with our parents to see who would contribute for what...tips fell on us...
