How do I decide?! I can't realistically invite every single woman who's invited to the wedding to the bridal shower. How did you decide who to put on your list? My mom wants a list of who I want invited but I don't want to leave someone out or 'over-invite' people.

I thought the bridal shower typically is all of the woman you are inviting to the wedding, I could be wrong though but that is what I plan on doing. If you want to do it smaller, I would just invite immediate woman from both your side and FH's side.

I am inviting the women in my family, my FH's immediate family (his mom & sisters) and my friends. I am not inviting FH's extended family & female friends because we aren't close. Of course, the people invited to my shower will be invited to the wedding.

I tried to keep it small. Bridal party, family on both sides and my close girlfriends.

This! I think these are generally the people who expect to be included in the bridal shower too. Coworkers might be happy to come to the wedding, but they're most likely not planning on being invited to the shower unless they are also close friends. Besides, any more than 50 guests at a bridal shower might seem like a small wedding! Lol

I am doing the same thing! my mom went a bit nuts when she heard this but I can't imagine not doing it. plus fh has been telling all his girl friends about my shower lol. plus we cut half the people out of our engagement party so might as well have a big shower.

Closer family, bridal party and girl friends of mine and also ones I've become friends with through my FH. The only thing is--he has SO many friends who are married and they all are good friends with each other that I don't know where to draw the line!

I feel if you can't invite all the women, then it should just be family. I plan on inviting all the women just because that is what I feel is customary.

We couldnt afford to invite everyone so I invited immediate family, friends, co-workers (only ones I hang out w/ outside the job), DH immediate family and 2 of his friends who I talk to and hang out. We have a big family and I have tons of cousins but I couldnt invite everyone. I say invite the people that you have close relationships with and are a part of your daily life. HTH!

I would want the females who are closer to me. There are females who are going to be at my wedding that are not close with me. Example: The wife of my boss or a friends new girlfriend.

We did almost everyone. The only people we didn't invite we're wives and girlfriends we didn't know too well.
