I just want to apologize for this taking me so long to post!! I got home late from Felicia and Anthony's wedding and I had to work late Monday and Tuesday... When I finally got the chance to get on here Tuesday night I had JUST finished writing this long review when my computer restarted!!! I was so mad I banged my laptop and broke the hard drive! ) So now IM back with my new and improved computer with a review and pics!!
First I have to start off by saying I am a very honest person and good or bad my review of Felicia's wedding is going to be 100% honest.
Well seeing as how the weather was supposed to be rainy and I was dying to go to my first outdoor cocktail hour I was praying all day saturday It wouldn't rain. Well guess what?? It was BEAUTIFUL outside!!!
I have to say I had never heard of it before LIW but the Thatched Cottage is really really beautiful!!!! The inside was so much nicer then I thought it would be!! Not in a mean way just when you hear the word cottage you get a picture in your head.. But this place was soo elegant and beautiful! The Bathroom was really nice and sooo clean! It was just a very very romantic setting.
The outdoor cocktail hour was PERFECT! The view was gorgeous as was the weather. The food was really really yummy and there was more then enough seating.
We were actually the first ones to walk into the ballroom ( I should have taken a pic b/c the room looked spectacular!) I was in total awe!! The view of the lake from the ballroom was breathtaking and the way the room was set up with the sweetheart table covered in candles, and the mantle covered in candles and rosepetals. It gave such a romantic and intimate feeling to the room. It was so elegant and cozy!
La Blossom did the centerpieces and while I don't usually care for the low centerpieces.. These were amazing! The colors were so beautiful and went perfectly in the room! I was actually staring at them all night!!! ( I was sooooooooo excited when I got to take it home at the end of the night!)
It is now 6 days after her wedding and the flowers HAVE JUST STARTED TO DIE TODAY!!!
The table was set up so cute!! They had a full bottle of champagne on each table in a cute swan holder and even the butter was shaped like a swan!! Too bad the girl next to me didn't realize it was butter and grabbed it by the neck!! lol ( FH goes hey she killed our duck!!) lol
Our Waiter was the funniest guy I have ever met!!! I can't tell you how nice it was to have a waiter with a personality and esp. A comedian! He had the drinks flowing all night long and was always right on top of everything!! It was also really nice to have one waiter per table b/c we never had to go searching for him he was constantly coming over to us. No one got up for a thing all night... well except to dance or go to the bathroom!
The mixed drinks weren't watered down at all and weren't too strong. Just the way I like them! lol
I have to mention that its my first wedding I have ever attended where we had menus and from a guest's point of view they were really helpful! FH and I were able to read them over and think about it ( usually under the pressure of the waiter standing there staring in my face I just blurt out whichever one I can remember lol) and I actually ordered something I really wanted and was happy with and didn't regret it the second the waiter walked away. The waiter also didn't have to go around repeating the menu options 10x's to each person and it made the ordering process much faster. I think in the time it took him to take the whole tables order he normally would have gotten maybe 2 people's order without the menus.
Well when it was time for the bride to make her grand entrance all I can say about her is WOW!!! Felicia looked AMAZING!! Honestly she was the definition of a stunning bride!!!!!!
Her hair and makeup were perfect... And I must say her tiara looked fantastic! Her dress fit her soo perfectly! All the girls at the table were talking about how beautiful her dress was and how the corset looked so great on her!!
Felicia's HUSBAND looks like such a sweet guy!!! He looked soooooo happy!! I mean floating on cloud nine happy!!! I don't think anything could have take the smile off of his face that day!! They looked so happy and perfect together!
When dinner was served it was something very different. The chef's came out pulling carts onto the dance floor like they do for a Viennese hour.. Well I got all confused wondering if they did the Viennese before dinner lol and then soon realized it was dinner!! All the entrees were brought out and sliced and served right in front of you! I thought it was very different and very nice at the same time. Much more entertaining then watching waiters serve tables one by one.
I ordered the grilled chicken breast and FH ordered the steak. Well all I can say about that is YUMMY!!!! That was THE BEST grilled chicken breast I have ever tasted!! It was so tender and juicy and it was a really huge portion! IM pretty sure fh's steak was just as good b/c I blinked and it was gone! lol he said it was a perfect medium rare. I am a somewhat picky eater and I had no trouble clearing my plate lol. They also came around offering seconds at the end of the meal but I don't think anyone had the room to accept!
Felicia's brother and brother in law gave such nice heartfelt speeches it was really touching and you could feel how much love was in the room that day.
Felicia also gave a beautiful dedication speech to both sets of parents that didn't leave a dry eye in the house. Felicia IM so proud of you b/c I didn't think you would make it through the whole thing the way you were crying! You made me cry like a baby!
I think the nicest thinkg about the evening was that the bride and groom got to come up and personally talk to everyone... Not once but twice! Felicia you made me feel so great that you ran up and made time to chat with us!!! It was a really nice gesture! And I loveddddddd chatting with you!!!
Then they came around the room again to take group pictures of each table with the bride and groom and that was also something really sweet. I had never seen anyone take the time out to do that before and each and every table and sometimes more then one pic. Very very sweet.
IM sure Felicia has a bunch of her own stuff to add when she pops in with her review but I just want to say that we are so happy and honored that we could be apart of your special day! We had an amazing time and I wouldn't have missed it for the world!
It really showed how much time and energy and thought you put into this wedding and you did a FANTASTIC job!!! Every detail was perfect, everything looked and tasted great. Your wedding was definitely a huge success and seeing you two smiling and laughing amd dancing all night made it even that much better!!! I wish you two a lifetime of happiness if anyone deserves it, it's you two!! Congratulations!!!!!
