Okay so... as Kris just pointed out... operation 'find Becki a cheap space to rent' is quickly becoming more difficult than helping haroula pick a dress.
I'm continuing down the list.
If anyone is willing to help me... I would really love love love if anyone on here would either:
- If you belong to a church or some other community center type place - call and find out if they will rent it for me. Like seriously... I would love you so much.
Or...
Just post a status update on facebook saying you're looking 'for a most special friend' for a space to rent out for about 50 people on a Saturday in October ... time of day flexible. Would like to bring in our own catering and just have the space for maybe just even two hours. We aren't having a crazy party. Its going to be extremely mellow and low key. People probably wont be drinking really...
Hugs and scratch off lotto tickets to the LIWer who helps me locate a place who isn't going to be a pain in the *** and charge me $500 just to have a room for two hours.
ETA: We are getting married at a church in Farmingville. As close (in either direction) as possible is preferable but I mean... at this point we can't be too picky. Farmingville is by Holbrook, Ronkonkoma, Patchogue, etc. THANKS GUYS.

okay, i really don't know how much they charge but my family has had a lot of parties at this place. you bring in your own food/caters. it is called the masury estate and it is really pretty!
This is the first response I got...Greenbelt Rec center on Patchogue Holbrook Rd in Holtsville...it's a Town of Islip facility, I think they charge $300. I'll keep them coming

I've gotten suggestions for VFWs and the Polish Hall in Glen Cove as well as any Masonic Lodge...our GM (a mason) says there is one in Islip, the # for them is 631-581-1016

try another firehouse. a girl I worked with, put together a very small reception at one when her FIL's cancelled her wedding 3 months before.
There is also a place on jackson ave in seaford but I cant think of the name. It begins with an M.
