Who would you like to have dinner with, dead or alive and why?

I'll start (can you tell I don't want to do work today??).

Jane Austen.

I think she was, and still is, a marvelous role model for women. Her female characters were so extraordinary (especially Eliza Bennett!!!) and ahead of their time. She herself was an incredible source of power - extremely witty and at times sarcastic and imagine at that time turning down (at least) 2 proposals??

Re: Who would you like to have dinner with, dead or alive and why?

Personally speaking - either of my grandfathers (passed away before I was born) or DH's late materal grandmother (she sounds like an incredible woman)

As far as 'celebrities': Jackie Kennedy Onassis.
