PreCana is $300?!?!?!? Is this right? Am i reading the right thing???

I'm on the website for the dioceses of RVC and it says this..

Marriage Preparation Selections

Please indicate your first and second choice, all offerings are for 2009–10.
Fees are listed below and include FOCCUS Online.
There is a $125.00 processing fee for all cancellations.
Sessions are limited and fill up quickly. Any “NO SHOWS” will NOT be refunded.

• Two Day Preparation.................................................... $300.00
• Four Evenings............................................................... $300.00
• Six Evenings............................................................... $300.00

WHAT??? That is ridiculous.
Maybe that is through the diocese. Are you taking it at your church?

OH geez, that's no fun. Mine was $75. Why not see if you can do it through HNM? I know they had other people from other churches when I went.

Maybe try calling around, are you allowed to take it at another church?

ETA: I believe my church allows people not getting married there to take pre-cana. St Patricks in Glen Clove. Their next precana is September 13-14 at 7pm -930pm

ours is going to be $290 for the weekend one - but thats because its with a hotel and stuff for the weekend getaway!!!

I just called Blessed Sacrament and everyone is out to lunch. I'm gonna call after i get back from lunch.

WHOA!!! That seems insane!!! I know my church is letting us take it anywhere we want and since we live so far we are taking it at a church by me and best part it's free.....

Wanna drive out here and do it together???

If we did it through the diocese of rockville centre that is how much it would have been. After seeing that price we looked elsewhere to complete pre-cana. We ended up doing it in CT for $85, one day!

Call your church see how much their's is. I am paying $100 to go to a one day program at Our Lady of Lourdes in Massapequa. The next session in October 17th. BTW that is not my church buy my church recommend them

That's what we are paying too because we can't and we didn't want to do it through the Parish (they meet in small groups 1x/week, and my FH's schedule doesn't allow this. Plus, I'd rather listen as a big group than do intimate role plays and all that stuff. But the $300 also covered FOCCUS. I think the peopl who paid less also had to pay additionally for the FOCCUS
