ugh i was watching my neighbors kids and TOTALLY forgot it was yankee/bosox wknd.

FH and i were watching a replay of the october 11, 2003 game...

(where pedro and clemens were throwing pitches at player's heads)

I'm actually an 'anyone but the Yankees' fan....but I have to say.... living up here in Boston has been EYE OPENING.

Boston fans care a helllllllllllll of a lot more about the yankees/sox rivalry than Yankees fans do. They are literally CRAZY up here about the Sox. FH and I cannot believe it. Its almost cultish.

Sometimes I wish NY only had 1 baseball team in town so everyone would be as passionate as the Boston fans are....

I lived in MA for a while with an ex and during baseball season i basically couldnt open my mouth when we were in boston. my accent is apparently a lot stronger than i realized. i had stuff thrown at me and a man threw a punch at me just b/c i was a new yorker.

i'm not even a yankees fan!! i'm a METS fan all the way!!
I had to start wearing Sox clothing or hats just so i wouldnt get hurt. but it was cool at the same time, b/c when they saw i was a NY and thought i was rooting for the Sox i got free drinks all the time!

People were nasty yo you just because you are from New York?! Now that's taking it just a bit too far! I'm a Yankee fan & I enjoy arguing with friends that are Boston fans, but it's all in good fun. I don't see any need to take it quite so seriously!
